Not my Republican Party

Hold on tight,it's going to get crazy around here, if this whole Foley thing is any indication. For the record, I think he's a scumbag and pervert. But he's not the Republican party. Not the face, nor heart or soul. I'd never heard of him before, so I believe that makes him a middle of the road republican. He couldn't be too conservative, due to the lack of attacks from the left (before this). Not much of a RINO either, since he hasn't been called a maverick by the MSN.

He's out of Congress. Shamed to a well deserved life of disgrace. But why the calls for more resignations? I will never, ever believe that any Republican leader covered up for this guy (or even blew off the charges). Can't happen, and if anyone tries to tell me different.... I'll do my best imitation of a liberal by covering my ears and shouting LALALALAL I CAN'T HEAR YOU!

My fear is the next round. There's still time before November to drop a big ole' heaping pile of scandal. From what I've heard it was our liberal friends who sat on this for so long before leaking. I hope that's the best they have.

Who's my BlogDaddy?

I have a BlogDaddy! Preston, from Six Meat Buffet. A wonderful blog. If you haven't seen it yet, do so soon. I stop in everyday.

It's a group blog and they all bring something to the party.

I emailed Preston asking to be put on the Tennessee Blogroll. He wrote back and said he would. He even checked out my blog!

So when you go to sixmeatbuffet.com, check out the blogroll. "Life as I know it" will be there.

Thank you BlogDaddy!

I have to go to work now, but I'll be back soon. Ranting and raving.

Uh oh, this blog is alive!

When I started this "Life as I know it" gig, I only signed up so I could rant and rave. Never thought anyone would notice. Well, except for the AmeriFamily and AmeriFriends, who I begged and pleaded with to check it out.

They have too. Bless their hearts.

AmeriPhil read it and had an instant connection. His wife works with someone who knew Jeremy. The Jeremy from the "That old rugged cross" post. After learning more details, it's safe to say once again...... Rest in Peace Jeremy. You are loved. You are remembered.

AmeriMark hasn't come around to reading it yet. But our political views are the same, so his response will be "Dude, YOU ROCK!!!!" or "yeah, it's alright, but Little Green Footballs does it better".

My AmeriSister has checked the site out. She's a Democrat, but perfect in every other way. She is an old school Democrat. More Lieberman than Lamont, if you know what I mean. She's also agreed to come in here and clean up the mess I make of spelling and punctuation. Thank you AmeriSister. But if you see a post titled "VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRATS!!!!!" please note that she has abused her privileges, and will be banned. I run a tight ship around here.
Unless she respones by banning me from eating her home cooked meals. Then I may have to think about making this a leftwing site. Yes, she cooks that good.

Sooooo. my point is that people whom I have asked to read this site have. Or will. One day, some day. That's good enough for me.

Then along comes MadelinesDad. He walks right in and makes himself comfortable. He even wrote a comment to my "Breaking up is hard to do" post.
A great comment . I still have a smile on my face because of it. Good stuff.

Read it.

I also checked out his blog. Even better. I would give you a link but I'm too stupid/young as a blogger to do it. Check for updates.

AmeriMadelinesDad knows whats up, and knows how to express it.

UPDATE: MadelinesDad's site is   wherearemykeys.townhall.com

Breaking up is hard to do.

My Girlfriend just broke up with me.

The AmeriGirlfriend says she's not ready for what we had.

Not just with me, but with relationships in general. OK, I wished her the best. I hope she finds what she's looking for.

Where's the Hamas love now?

By love I mean... the money, support services, etc. that they supplied from a seemingly bottomless pit of resources. To a bottomless pit of despair. Despair brought on by the Zionist, of course.

Think about this for a moment. Before the bottomless pit of western aid (re: USA tax dollars) was cut off. Fatah was running the show. Israel was doing their occupying thing and in the process, stopping Fatah from being able to supply the poor peace loving Palestinians with even the most basic things. Schools. Hospitals. You name it, and the Zionist where stopping it in it's tracks. No matter how much money was given.

Enter Hamas. Stage right. Cue the Lone Ranger tune.

Need a hospital? No problem. Hamas, who had no known financial support, will come riding in and make one appear. They'll even staff and maintain it. I bet they even provided a few of those daycare centers that are all the rage in the Islamic world. Gotta let the women have a little free time.

So the Palestinians, being a peace loving people, decided enough is enough. Fatah, with millions upon millions of dollars being poured into their bank accounts, can't give us our daily bread. Hamas can give us everything we need, and as an added bonus.... Kill the Jews! It was a win/win situation.

The point of this post, and my question is:

Why can't Hamas provide for the Palestinians now? They did such a wonderful job before they came into power. According to the world wide main stream media.

If they had no power and no known financial backing, and where able to accomplish everything that they are credited for. Where's the love now?

I'm just asking. I don't expect an answer. I already know why.

Faces of Evil

I've just seen the pictures from the newly released video of the al-Qaida all star team. My feelings upon seeing them fit in well with an earlier post about the 9/11 hijackers. It also fits in with an even earlier post about Ted Kennedy (of all people) condemning waterboarding, in the effort to extract murderous planning information from monsters.

I once heard someone near and dear to me say that Islamic terrorism would not happen if we'd just "leave them alone". That person (whom I dearly love) and I don't talk politics... obviously. But I ask everyone of my nonexistent readers to see the pictures, watch the video, and decide if that stategy for national security would work.

They are laughing and having a jolly good time. In front of a camera. They are being filmed to give their "last will".  Looks like a good time was had by all. And why not? They know they are taking their first step toward striking a devastating blow to the root cause of all that's wrong in this world. That root cause being you, and you, and you, and me, and everybody else who does not bow down to their god.

Here's a question I have... Why hit the mute button before releasing this tape?

Could it be that they are bragging about killing tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands, or even millions of infidels? Where there other things planned for us that day?

9/11 was a devastating battle defeat for us, and a glorious victory for them. But was it also a glass half full type win for the jihadists? A moral victory that failed to achieve their stated aim. The complete collapse of our world.

Did our goverment drop the ball, yet still manage to tackle the enemy before they returned it for a game winning touchdown?

The Vol diet

If you're looking to lose weight, I recommend exercise and a healthy diet.

If you're looking to lose money; I recommend being a life long University of Memphis fan who bets money each and every time they play the University of Tennessee. I only gamble for certain college football games. UT, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and a few others. Not for profit, not for the spread... just for the extra thrill of having a friend and/or coworker fork over that cold hard cash when the Tigers ROAR!!!!

With Ole Miss and MSU, chances are good that I'll lose money. But it's a mixed bag. Who know's? Maybe this is the year we have their number. It's happened on several occasions before. Why not now? Keep the dream alive, I say.

With the Vols, we are "victory challenged". Yet I still press on, because we do have that one time. Ask St. Manning about his worst regret in college sports. I believe you'll hear the word Memphis somewhere in that statement.

So it is with a heavy heart that I will shell out ten whole dollars tomorrow. LIFE IS NOT FAIR!

I will also check the blogs I read (lurk at) everyday and have to face the one I will dread the most, after this loss..... Six Meat Buffet.
Have your fun now Preston. We will be back.

UPDATE: Does anyone have an extra ten bucks? I've emptied my change jar and it turns out I'm a little short. The guys I bet with don't play around. So if you don't hear from me soon, hang in there, maybe I can liveblog from the Regional Medical Center.

You can say that again

This will be a new, recurring feature of this blog.

Everyone has a favorite writer (or more) who can condense your millions of thoughts down to one or two right on target quotes.

Quotes that stay with you. They may make you feel better, or haunt you, but there they are. I thought I would pick one of those type quotes every now and again, and give my thoughts. Then I'll let the pros take over. So here it goes:

An amazing number of people around the world believe in finding the root cause of murderous intent. There must always be a reason. Most times there is, though not what our leftist friends believe. Take the 9/11 hijackers. Why did they do it? Was it oppression? Poverty? Chilling of dissent? The Florida recount of 2000, or the future invasion of Iraq?

Nope, none of those things. These monsters were not human when they boarded those planes. They were brainwashed murderbots. From birth till death they were raised/guided with one purpose. Kill the Jews. Kill the infidel. Because in their world, the root cause of their misery is us. Their hearts and minds can't be won over, because their minds are made up; and their hearts are only for pumping blood to keep them alive.... to complete their mission of death.

Ladies and gentleman, please welcome Mr. James Lileks to sum it all up.

"It takes a dead rotten heart to board a plane,
see a little girl, and know your going to kill her
before the mornings out -- if all goes well that
             is".

Couldn't have said it better myself. You can read Mr. Lileks work at many places. I suggest   newhousenews.com  They have an archive of him and many other great writers.

Letter from a Soldier

I received a letter from SGT. Bill today. Who's he? He's my soldier that's who. Yes, I have my very own soldier, thanks to Soldier's Angels.

When you sign up they tell you to expect few, if any response letters. They are right. Not that I've been a ball of fire on dispatching letters myself. A few letters here, a care package or thank you card there. That's it.

I only needed to hear from him when he was home. When you adopt a soldier, they're your's till the tours over. I wasn't looking for a penpal and didn't get one. Just wanted to say thanks in some small way.

So who really is SGT. Bill? What are his deepest thoughts and highest dreams? I have no clue. I do know where he is stationed. Hint: Lots of sand. Also know some of what he does. Hint: none of your beeswax. At any rate, I received a postcard from him today. Since it was not in a sealed envelope, I'm sure he wouldn't mind me sharing it with all my nonexistent readers out there.

           Danny,
Thank you for your support. I, along with all
the troops, appreciate everything you do. You
are the best. You make being a Soldier worth it.
                                                          SGT. Bill

I thought I was suppose to be the one giving the atta-boys. Aren't these guys suppose to be over extended, defeated,  resentful, and on and on? Doesn't sound like it to me. Rep. Murtha... call your office!

Needless to say, my day has gone from normal to extra super wonderful. Someone who would (and does) place his life and well being between myself and enemies who wish me and my nation death; has taken the time to thank me for a few letters and some beef jerky. Granted, beef jerky is his favorite snack, but I'm still in awe. Also, I'm not worthy. But I'll keep writing to this brave man. Gotta get him back home, when he completes his mission, of course. He would have it no other way.

Speaking of not being worthy..... Will I send this post to Rep. Murtha? Bet your bottom dollar on it. Will he reply? Would you if you were he? Of course not. But if he can give aid and comfort to the enemy for political gain, I can pass this inconvenient (for him) truth along.

Beside, I could care less if Rep. Murtha writes back. I have received a letter from a real Warrior.

God bless you SGT. Bill. You are my Hero.

                                                                              - AmeriDan

DISCLAIMER: Soldier's Angels are nonpolitical. I am not. These are my views, not their's. Got it? Good. SGT. Bill may, or may not be, his name and rank. He is real though. Also, when I write to SGT. Bill, my politics step outside for a smoke. The daily "hardships" that I must endure, like traffic, long lines, rude waiters, moonbats and such... step outside too. Although they don't smoke. It's a courtesy thing.

The gloves are off. Part 1

"Five years after 9/11, the worst attack on the American
homeland in our history, Democrats offer nothing but
criticism and obstruction and endless second guessing".

"The party of FDR and the party of Harry Truman has
become the party of cut and run".

The gloves are off. Part 2

The above quote's from President Bush mean so much to me. I'm tired of the President of this Great Nation, the Military, and the United States of America and the whole friggin world being told that we are over extended, fighting the wrong war, not strong enough, not smart enough, not tough enough, etc. Don't get me started on Bush lied, people died; and what did Bush know and when did he know it?".

Time to bring the real truth, not the "progressive" truth to the American people.

This was no smear campain. No October surprise. These quotes are facts. If someone can prove them wrong, I welcome the cold hard evidence.

The gloves are off. Part 3

This post could also be titled:

              You asked for it. Enjoy!

President Bush finally tossed some red meat to the people who voted him into office in 2004. We didn't go to the polls to vote for someone who nominate's a Harriet Miers' to the Supreme Court. Nor someone who is all hat and no cattle as far as putting a stop to illegal immigration. We wanted our ole' time Texas Cowboy back.

I'm talking "BRING. IT. ON.", and "I can hear you! and the people who knocked down these buildings are going to here from us soon". Don't forget the classic "Saddam...gather up your youngun's, you got forty eight hours to get outta Bagdodge".

I'm projecting a little on that last quote, and the others are from memory, but you get the ideal. Am I the right wing DailyKos? I wish! My point is that the base needs some raw, red meat on occasion. A hugh chunk. Don't just throw us a bone every now and again.

Not in this day and age. Ted Kennedy can commit (at the very, very least) negligent homicide by letting an innocent woman drown. Then be shocked and disgusted that we would allow "waterboarding" of monsters who wish to kill innocent women, children and men. While we do that only to find out their next murderous plot(s). The U.S. is not waterboarding in a drunken night of partying. Sen. Kennedy did, and with a slow torturous death for a young lady resulting from his actions.

John Kerry can return from Vietnam and slander his "Brothers in Arms", and ensure our POW's paid the price with renewed intensity in their daily briefings.. sorry, I meant beatings. John McCain is pretty much on the same side with Sen. Kerry. Huh?. Both will be "contenders" for their respective party's nomination.

Again, Huh?

In closing, I believe that both parties should throw out red meat. Since one party already specializes in it, and practices it on a daily basis.

Let the voters decide, as we always do.

Cry me a river. Of rage and blood.

As the weather cools down here, and the very Holy religous month of raMADan heats up over there (Brussel's so far). I'm reminded of the simple things in life. Walks in the park, trips to the fair,  horse rides on the beach, marshmellows roasted over a bonfire; all good stuff. I should try them one of these days.

There's also the sure bet things that come to mind. Thing's that keep us grounded, and assured that things will always keep on keeping on. The sun sets, and lo and behold, it arises the next morning. Want the moon, just look up at night, it will be there. Maybe behind the clouds, but trust me , it's there. Oh, and there's alway's Islamic outrage. Trust me on this too... Islamic outrage is always there.

Like the local weather here is changing from summer to fall. So to is the reason of outrage for the religon of peace. Flushed Koran's (that were not really flushed) not holding any water on the outrage meter? Look around, something will come along shortly. Killing in the the name of cartoons got ya feeling a little silly? Hang in there, the world wide MSN has you covered. They have your back. They sure as heck don't want you at their's.

Thankfully the Pope has stepped up. Right after 9/11, some of our liberal friends assured us that violence never solves violence. I don't think the jihadist translated the memo correctly though. The mullahs that give the jihadist the liberal message, somehow thought they meant... being accused of violence, should be met with a violent response. Must be a cultural thing.

I have no doubt that the Nun killed in Somalia (in response to the Pope's speech), is being comforted in the arms of God. As a far better person than myself, I know she bears no ill will toward her murderers. "I forgive, I forgive". Her last words.

So where will the next outrage come from? Does anyone really care anymore? It's a given. The sun will set, the sun will rise. Islam will be insulted, they will destroy.

Set your clocks by it. Much more accurate then the most advanced Swiss watch.

Thank you Dixie Chicks

There was a time when rock and roll, heavy metal, and the blues ruled my musical world. Good times. Really good times.

But this country band kept crashing the party. They wanted to be heard. They wanted to make a statement. They did.

The first song I heard was "Earl". I loved it. Southern women banding together to get rid of a creep that beat his wife. Priceless.

Next song; Wide Open Spaces. I was hooked.

Women standing up for their freedom. Women willing to defend that basic right. The right to live, and be free, and not be beaten upon. Wide Open Spaces indeed. I like that.

Something changed though. Their great songs, pretty hair, pretty smiles, and don't mess with me attitude changed.

Hollywood won them over. They begin to look like robots in the
videos and pictures after their west coast conversion. Or maybe clowns, I can't decide.

That was before their big moment of infamy.

Yes, be ashamed that the President of the United States Of America is from the same state as you, and say it in another country, during a time of war. You have that right.

Then write and release a song that tells us we're not worthy. That we have failed you. That we have chilled your dissent. I wish I could shut you up, because I'm sick of hearing from you. We have heard over and over and over and over again about how you have been silenced.

Then tell all your fans that you don't need them. You want quality over quantity. They really did say that.

So here is my thank you to the Dixie Chicks;

One one hand... you disgust me, I'm ashamed that you come from the same Country as me. On the other, thank you for bringing country music to me.

BTW, Toby Kieth can sell out the FedExForum in about an hour. Sorry you had to cancel your show here due to low ticket sales.

                                                           -AmeriDan

ALSO: Thanks to AmeriPhil, who had a small role (barely worth mentioning), in me becoming a Country Music fan.

Car Wars... and then the Fair

There is a 1992 Buick Park Avenue that waits in my carport. The fuel pump has failed. This car has carried me to Florida, New Orleans, Wynne, AR., LawsHill, MS. and alot of other places. It has never left me on the side of the road. I have left it in the carport though. This car likes the open road. It want's to travel.

My only excuse for leaving it there so long is health problems. I have been "fixed" now. So will I get off my lazy butt and fix my car?
I have the parts. I have the tools. Stay tuned. I will update as needed. I know that the vast majority of my readers will be sitting on the edge of their seats.

Weather I have victory or defeat today with the car wars, I'm taking my Sweetypie and her daughter to the Mid South Fair tonight. Yes, I will win the biggest, bestest prizes for them. I will be DaMan.

                                                 Check you one day,
                                                                     AmeriDan

UPDATE: No I didn't get off my lazy butt and fix the car. I did take the AmeriGirlfriend and her AmeriDaughter to the fair. A good time was had by all. It was a sad sight to ride the farris wheel and look down upon a pitch black Liberty Land though.
